What happens when i post on LinkedIn?

NEW WEEK Commencing 7 January
Following the fun of the week-long LinkedIn Challenge it was busy again this week. I am having so much fun in 2023 and the content that I am putting out is hopefully reflecting my mood.
Creating content comes naturally to me now. I guess after nearly 2 years of daily content I am well-practiced.
I use Saturday mornings to review the week and I share my findings with you. My goal is to get more people to create content. That’s why I wrote my book and why I share this.
By looking at what I do you can draw inspiration from it and have a go yourself. I’m not an English major, I am just me.
That’s all we need to be.
Our real selves.
Have fun with your content this week and please let me know what you think of my blog.

Views Last Week 1,743 and a massive 157% increase!!
Views This Week 1,813 viewers in the last 90 days. But this week a dip of 20% which is due to the spike from the challengers last week I still had 182 people look at my profile which is why I have been tweaking the About Section this week.
Followers Last Week 6,542 - This Week - 6,659 another big jump of 117 extra followers.

Hashtag Follows Last Week 100
Hashtag Follows This Week 111 this is my biggest increase, obviously because I dig a post about it! Have you got your bespoke hashtag yet?
SATURDAY 14 January 2,534 impressions
While doing my blog last week I noticed that I had hit 100 followers on my hashtag. It has taken slow progress, but because of my consistency, I have got to 100. When we start something the big numbers seem impossible, but with a little bit each day we will all get where we want to be.
Do not give up.
And this is why I wrote the post today, to give people the inspiration to just keep going.
It also had the added advantage of educating people who didn’t know about the benefit of having a personalised hashtag.
Here’s that post .

Do you ever worry about slow progress?
We all do right?
But at least it is progress.
I guess that's why we always talk about The Tortoise and The Hare story. It's a great analogy.
Nothing is an overnight success.
We do not see all the hard work gone before.
𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘵𝘢𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘰. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
I decided to change my personalised hashtag from the one that had my strapline "You get out what you put in" when some Russian guy invaded Ukraine.
So for the last 12 months, I've been dropping it here and there.
You may have seen it.
I am now introduced as the 15 Minute Guy and today I have hit 100 followers on the hashtag.
100 followers is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it is a significant milestone.
When you are building something or learning something you have to have milestones to keep you going, to motivate you and to measure progress.
The path to success is long and winding, but with some little milestones along the way to celebrate it makes the journey more fun.
I bet when you do a long drive in your car you have some markers to show your progress.
This is the same in business too.
100 was my milestone.
So why not create YOUR own hashtag to help people following you see more of your posts and then make sure you tell people about the hashtag?
What milestones do you have?

I saw a post in the week talking about vocal coaching and my comment was about Vocalzone lozenges, so on Saturday night when I did my gig I had this photo taken to show how I have a ‘hand’ when doing my job.
I posed the question, who is your friend? It just shows that if we keep our eyes peeled content is everywhere.

Do you have a "little friend" to help you?
Here I am with my "Little Friend" Vocalzone.
As a singer and public speaker, I have to protect my voice so when I was at my friend's party last night to provide entertainment, I needed to be proactive.
Our band were not on until late which meant chatting with people beforehand. Not good for a singer.
But with these little lozenges, I kept my voice lubricated and protected so that I could hit those high notes.
We had a fantastic evening and it went without hitch I was warbling away thinking I was Freddie Mercury or Robbie Williams. Singing is so much fun and music brings us all together eh?
Do you have a little friend to help you? Do you have any remedies that help you with your hobbies or in your business world?
If you are a singer or public speaker, what tips have you got?
Enjoy your Sunday

My weekly video. It makes my content planner so much easier knowing that this is what I create on a Monday. I normally curate the list over the weekend and record the video on Sunday. Even if it is raining. I try to do the recording in different locations to mix things up.

What can you write about for your content on LinkedIn?
Here are 5 New Ideas for you today.
Every Monday I create a video to help you with ideas for creating content on LinkedIn.
Here is week 3
Headline Ideas but watch the video for more in-depth thoughts
💚 Down the Gym
💛 Blue Monday (Positive Spin)
💚 Winne the Pooh Day 18 January
💛 National Hug Day 21 January
💚 Ask a Question
It is also Blue Monday and in the video, I give you tips to spread positivity.
On top of that, I have created an extra video to show you how to create a positivity poll.
Send me a DM if you want access to that video, or check out my Monday Nudge email that I send every Monday. I'll post this later this afternoon.
Don't forget that creating content get's you noticed. This isn't spin. It's fact. Only 1% of LinkedIn users create content, so you can imagine the demand.
Give it a go today.
Good luck

We have our LinkedIn Local next week so I wanted to let people know that it is happening and a great way to do this is to share it via the Event tool on LinkedIn. This allows you to advertise the event and add external links. For me this is Eventbrite.
You can also add other speakers, so in this case, I was able to add Odess. Because we are set up as speakers, we can individually invite people to the event through LinkedIn.
They will then receive a notification and hit a button to say that they are coming. I can now go into that post and message them and ask them to buy a ticket if that is their intention!
The downside is that this type of post gets fewer impressions.

Are you going out IRL? In Real Life?
When was the last time you had a cheeky breakfast on the way to work?
I am so pleased that we can do these events again.
Zoom has been great, but how lovely to get up close and personal with the people in your local area.
Some of these local people we've never met but are now building great relationships with them and looking forward to next Thursday.
When we started Sidmouth LinkedIn Local we wanted to create an environment for people just to chat. To meet up and network.
We do not have any sales pitches, we do not have long talks, and there's no real agenda, just space to get to know the people who are running a business in and around Sidmouth.
We do have the lovely Odessa Sherreard who will be sharing some top tips to help you write more engaging content on social media and I share a few useful nuggets on how to get more from LinkedIn.
We also have some great local people who are friendly knowledgeable and wide awake so early.
If you'd like to come, please follow the Eventbrite link in the event notification, or drop me or Odessa a DM.
Where are your favourite networking events?
Do you like an early start or do you prefer an evening?
See you next week.

While working with one of my 1:1 coaching clients this question came up. I am helping them to bring a webinar to market and we were wondering when to start the marketing junket.
It seems that a month before wins!
Using LinkedIn to ask these kinds of questions opens up all kinds of conversations and people are willing to help. They are also keen to find out the answers because they have the same questions too. So why not create a poll once a week to answer those questions that you know people have?

Do you host webinars?
Asking for a friend.
When is the best time to start promoting a webinar?
I was having a chat with one of my 1:1 clients about creating a webinar and we have worked backwards so that we know at what point to do certain things before the actual day.
But here's a question that maybe you can help with, please.
I see many people doing webinars and some of them only share the link to join the week before.
Meanwhile, others have the date set many months in advance and do a lot of drip marketing.
Would you sign up for a webinar in 6 weeks' time? If you did, would you drop it if something comes up, or do you protect that time?
Or do you sign up for a webinar next week because you have space in your diary?
What do you think, or have webinars had their day? 🤦♂️

I have the devils own job trying to get my camera to work. But i gave up and returned it to the shop where I purchased it. I was expecting all kinds of issues with the return, but I was greeted with awesome customer service.
Lets shout out about great customer service eh?

When did you last get awesome customer service?
Do you think that we need to shout about great customer service because we are always quick to complain eh?
You may have seen my challenge to find a new camera recently.
I had to take it back 🤦♂️
I won't bore you with all the gory details of my calls to Canon EMEA.
The bottom line is that I cannot use the EOS M50 as a webcam because their software is not compatible with the latest version of the Mac Operating System.
The OS, Ventura, was launched in October 2022. But Canon still hasn't got a patch.
So I lost all faith in my camera and Canon so took it back to Argos.
I purchased online but Angela was a superstar when I popped back.
She totally got how frustrated I was and rather than spout protocol and red tape at me, she got on the phone with head office and made the pain go away.
She also explained the GDPR issues with SD cards and data. Every day is a school day.
Thank you Angela Wakeham ❤️
When did you get good customer service, lets's shout out those people who are a beacon and ambassador for their company.
What policies do you have in place in your business?

FRIDAY 20 January 1,430 impressions
Again, this is another strategy for my posting. My Friday gratitude post. I never have to worry about what to talk about, I just summarise my week.
I also had a photo and this week I was able to add the lovely Odessa to my post and give her a bit of a shout-out.
Who can you shout out each week?

What are YOUR highlights for this week? How were the last 7 days?
⭐️ 🥳 🙏 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒. 🙏 🥳 ⭐️
Each Friday I share my gratitude and thanks to all the fantastic people in my network who have lifted me up over the last week.
Who or what has impacted your week? Did the car start the first time? Was the milk still fresh? All your little wins count!
First up is Odessa Sherreard. Odessa has finally gone alone in her business and has now just started a LIVE on LinkedIn. That's her in the photo with me at my book launch in November '22
Odessa's show is called Talk the Talk and I was her very first guest. Not only was it an honour, but I was also very proud to see her step outside of her comfort zone and go for it. Thank you, Odessa ❤️
Next up, the BRILLIANT Michael Heppell. He's been shouting my praises following his attendance at my LinkedIn Daily Habit Challenge. His love of LinkedIn has skyrocketed and he's given me some great opportunities. Thank you, Michael 🙏
Big up to Lorraine Ellison for helping me to realise my TRUE value. I really value our chats and how you are helping me to grow as a public speaker. (3 gigs in the bag but not allowed to talk about them just yet). Thank you, Lorraine ❤️
I have also been talking to Nadin Thomson about SEO. Thank you for helping me and sharing your epic course. I'm looking forward to exploring this important part of my marketing journey. Thank you, Nadin.
Hey, Giles Stagg. Thank you for creating the 15-Minute Guy Cocktail!! Love it. 🍹
Why are you grateful today? Whom do you want to shout out for being lovely? Come on, let's be grateful together.
Have a Fantastic Friday

What another fun week!
Last week 17,045 impressions down 12% and 593 engagements Up by 14%%
This week 18,003 impressions down 39% and 569 engagements down by 53%

How funny.
My numbers are up but the graph is down. Not sure why that is.
Here are my top-performing posts of the week. Note how the engagements differ to the type of post. Engagements are a number of reactions and comments. You can see what type of posts people prefer.
Do you check this on your profile?
Have a fantastic week and keep up with the regular content creation. Just once a week is better than 99% of people on LinkedIn
