I had my first-ever Keynote speech this weekend so I thought I’d share it with people. It was a really well-received post with many people wishing me well and also sharing why they do with nerves. I even had a voice message from a few people wishing me well too.
If you talk about it in the right way people are behind you. But if you do it wrong, then it looks bad and people think that you are showing off. There is a fine line when you do this type of post. I’m extremely lucky because many of my followers are in similar positions with their small businesses too.

Do you have days when you pinch yourself?
Days when you wake up with a start in the morning? But in your waking state, you cannot remember what's happening.
Is it something big? Something exciting or something OMG Scary? 😱
For me, it was all three today.
I've got my first-ever Closing Keynote Talk!
So I went for a walk. This is me outside the conference suite!!
I am at the CIMA Members in Practice Spring Conference in Solihull with nearly 100 management accountants where they are having a wonderful couple of days networking, learning and being inspired.
No pressure then? 😂
It all kicks off at 2:30 so please wish me luck.
I think I'll be ok as everyone I have met so far is delightful, but that won't stop me from having a few nerves as I jump up on stage with my new yellow shoes!
What makes you have blind panic? Or do things like this give you a buzz?
What would you be doing right now if this was you?
Have a fantastic weekend

Having been to the CIMA conference to do my talk I was lucky enough to stay at the event and mix with the delegates. Whilst there I noticed so many people sharing and collaborating and just so much love in the place where people are being an amazing community.
This got me thinking about the communities that I belong to and I, therefore, asked the question. Another well-engaged post with loads of impressions.
Here it is
Do you belong to a community?
Do you love your community? How do you make it work for you?
I love this word and what it means and I wonder if you feel the same because I am so lucky to belong to some wonderful communities.
I've just got back from the CIMA Members in Practice - Spring Conference, in Solihull and the one thing I noticed was they are a wonderful community.
I was only talking to Mark Allen the other day about how we are now using the word COMMUNITY more often.
What I witnessed in Solihull was a true community.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱.
❤️ Mother and father figure types helping out and leading with their hearts
👊 Team members making it work even with some behind-the-scenes tech issues.
🤗 New members looked after and shown the way
🥳 Guests being made to feel so very welcome
It was such a great event and Lorraine Ellison and Emma Willder along with hoards of other awesome people made it work so beautifully. There's not enough space here to thank all the superstars, but you know who you are.
Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome.
Where is your community? What makes them special? To whom do you want to give a shout-out?
Come on, let's share our wonderful communities and celebrate the collaboration.

It’s Monday so I drop my weekly video of 5 ideas for creating content

CONTENT CREATION - What on earth can you write about?
Did you know that if you create a post on LinkedIn you'll be doing more than 99% of people on this platform?
Only 1% of LinkedIn users actually create content. So by creating YOUR OWN content then you'll be in the 1% Bracket.
How cool is that?
PLUS
By creating content you'll see other benefits such as
💚 Establish yourself as an authority in your field.
💛 Increase brand awareness and visibility.
💚 Engage with your audience and build relationships.
💛 Drive traffic to your website or other online platforms.
💚 Generate leads and boost sales.
Here are my ideas for this week.
Have fun creating your content and remember to aim for just once a week.
You do not need to create every day. Honest.

This Week was a huge jump on last week. I had 2,347 impressions, 31 Reactions, 40 comments, and 0 Reposts. This also means a lot more views.
This week it was 763 views watched by 694 viewers with 259 minutes viewed. Much more impressions. Nearly double and this is reflected in the number of viewers and watch time. Sea view!!!

I helped out at the local college on Monday so I wrote about it and the amazing careers teacher, Nicki Young. She is such an inspiration at the college so I thought that she needed a shout and I also wanted to know who inspires you. Hence the post starts with that question.

Who inspires you?
Or what inspires you? I was at Sidmouth College yesterday to meet up with the year 7's and the amazing Nicki Young
Nicki is the careers teacher at our local secondary school and as members of the Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce, we chat regularly.
So when Nicki asked me to come and help her with introducing the world of work to the 11 and 12-year-olds in their first year of 'big' school I jumped at the chance.
Nicki is so popular and friendly you cannot refuse to help out so I and another dozen or so local employers popped into school and dropped into different classes where each teacher delivered the first lesson in the program.
Nicki has developed an amazing program where we pop in over the course of the year to share our knowledge with different year groups.
It was great working with the teacher and the students and we had some great questions. Did we really think about work when we were that old?
Nicki explained to our group what we were going to do and then asked if anyone had any questions. Seeing the INSPIRE motif over the lockers I had to ask for a photo eh?
I really wish this happened when I was at school.
💚 Did you have this?
💛 Do you get involved with your local school or college?
💚 Come on give these awesome career teachers a shout-out.
Have you been inspired already this week?
Thank you, Nicki, you are a real inspiration ❤️ 🙏

WEDNESDAY 29 March 2,376 impressions
We haven’t had a poll for a while but I am also wondering how people find us. Do we need to have our profile so optimised that we have SEO in it, or do we make the profile all about the nice stuff that makes us human and shows that we care?
So I asked the question and got some really great questions.
What do you think?

Do you stumble across amazing people here on LinkedIn or do you seek them out? 👀
Having a chat with a group of people learning LinkedIn the other day got me wondering about how people actually use LinkedIn.
My belief is that people stumble across each other from hanging out on LinkedIn.
Or do I have it all wrong? 🤦♂️
Do any of these happen to you?
💚 Thoughtful suggestions from the LinkedIn Algorithm.
💛 You spend ages searching for the right people.
💚 Produce Great Content so want to see more
💛 You get recommendations from friends?
💚 You like what the person is doing.
💛 Or is it just a bit of potluck?
Let me know who and why you are connected to many people on here and if you have any other ideas please let me know.
Is it from scrolling or do we work hard to connect with people?
Come on, don't be shy

I’ve been working with Michael Heppell and he said that I do not talk about my book enough so after he told me off and gave me some Ideas he said he’d record a video.
This is that video.
But rather than just put out the video I made it into a post that asked the question if you had been told off before.
I got loads of engagement and lots of views to the video. I’ve also added the video to my YouTube Channel.
What are you keeping secret?

Have you been told off recently? You know the thing, Proper berated?
For me, it was this Tuesday and I felt like a naughty schoolboy full of remorse.
💚 My telling-off was justified.
💛 I was making a grave error
💚 I hadn't done something
💛 I was in the Wrong
It wasn't my wife because I didn't unload the dishwasher. Or my daughter because I didn't call her back or even my folks because I missed a birthday.
I think I'd have been happier if it was one of the above. 🤦♂️
Sadly it wasn't any of the above.
It was from Michael Heppell. You know the guy? Best-selling author, public speaker and all round Top Bloke! 🤗
He was asking why I never talk about my book.
He said it was BRILLIANT and I should be talking about it.
And then he did a video review for me. BOOM!!
How do you think I feel now 🤦♂️
I wrote my book - 101 Ideas for LinkedIn - Content Made Easy because so many people who come on my LinkedIn Daily Habit Workshop don't know what to write about.
It gives you 101 ideas (102 if you take a photo and post that) to help you create content.
Each idea has several more ideas within the topic so that not everyone who writes about one thing will talk about it in the same way.
Here are some highlights from the Amazon Reviews
🙏 What a great little resource to pick up, it's full of golden nugget ideas to post about
🙏 I like his approach, it’s not in your face but friendly, helpful guidance.
🙏 This book is incredibly practical, useful, packed full of ideas.
🙏 Designed for LinkedIn but great ideas for blog posts too.
🙏 I can’t recommend this book enough.
You can bay the book here https://15mins.day/book
Thank you for the nudge, Michael. 🙏
When did you get a telling off and was it justified?
And when did you last talk about your book, service or product? Be more MICHAEL!!!

It’s Friday Thanks and what another brilliant week.
It’s so easy to do these posts each week and sets me up for the weekend. Why not give this a go yourself? I’m seeing more pop up too.

What are you grateful for today?
Who has been a superstar for you this week? Or it may just be that you found somewhere to park today or the lights we all green!
When you focus on the good things in your life and express gratitude for them, you are more likely to feel positive emotions and less likely to dwell on negative ones.
⭐️ 🥳 🙏 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒. 🙏 🥳 ⭐️
Every Friday I share my gratitude and thanks to all the fantastic people who have been brilliant during the week.
Whom do you want to thank this week? 🙏
Here's a few of the super people who've made my week one to remember.
First up has to be the one and only Michael Heppell for kicking my butt and getting me to talk about my book 101 Ideas for LinkedIn - Content Made Easy. And then RECORDING an awesome testimonial. Thank you Michael - You are BRILLIANT 🙏 🥳
Do you know Niraj Kapur? OMG, what an amazing guy. We met at a recent Espresso + event and booked a follow up chat. Niraj is honest, human and talks so much sense. I got so much clarity from our time together. Thank you Niraj. You Rock 🙏 😁
I've already given the wonderful Nicki Young a shout out this week, but what she is doing at Sidmouth College to help the students know more about work is worth shouting about. Thank you so much for what you do and I love being involved. Thank you Nicki ❤️ 🙏
Big up to super friendly Ross Taylor from Quill Creations who came to my rescure thanks to Sam Robertson 🎬 when I needed someone to record my talk at the CIMA conference this weekend. He did some great video, was super easy to work with and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks Ross. 🙏 📹. I cannot wait to see the finished article.
💚 Who are you going to give a big hug too?
💛 Who has helepd you this week.
💚 What are you grateful for?
Come on, give them a shout out and feel brilliant!

What are my thoughts on this week?
I was able to ride the wave from the CIMA Conference this week so my engagement has been good even though I dropped in a video. My engagement has been up too. This week my impressions have increased although the graph says it’s 7.6% down.
