What Content is Best for LinkedIn? Full breakdown of why I created each post this week on LinkedIn

NEW WEEK Commencing 11 November

On Saturdays, I sit in my shed and I look at all of my content for the previous week and have a good look through to see what has worked and what hasn’t. This enables me to really make sure that when I create content, it works, it adds value and I can see what I'm doing.

This is especially useful and the moment because the algorithm is not favouring me at the moment on LinkedIn.

It gives me the chance to reflect and analyse what I am doing. It takes a while, but I feel it’s worth the effort so that I can improve with what I do.

Profile Views;

Previous Week

My views have dipped below 200 again but I’m pretty steady with 182 people viewing my profile this week. The total views in the last 90 days is 2,240 a slight drop on the 90-day period. But I am down by 18%

Views

This Week My views have dipped below 160 people viewing my profile this week. The total views in the last 90 days is 2,225 which is still a slight drop on the 90-day period. But I am down by 21% which is a similar drop since last week.

Followers

In the previous week my numbers were at 8,848 that’s 63 new followers.

This Week - 8,887 that’s only 39 new followers this week. But these are all organic.

717 Search appearances for the previous week and 618 searches this week. Down more which is not a surprise.

Follows Last Week 174

Follows This Week 174 no change. This has been static for a few months

SATURDAY 11 November 2,044 impressions

On Saturday, I wanted to let people know about the removal of the profile videos from LinkedIn. So I created an image with the email from LinkedIn explaining why. I added the words, “Don't worry I have an idea”.

I used the great hook and then I created a video of how to fix this problem. I want to promote my YouTube channel so this is why I shared the link rather than making it a native video. But as I manage a group on LinkedIn I may upload the video to this group.

Are you going to add a video to your profile?

Have you seen the profile video on LinkedIn™️ ? It used to be a thing

It's the Harry Potter type video on a profile, but not everyone has one because it was pulled earlier in the year.

It's a great way to get people to know who you are and what you do, but it's GONE 😢. But they stopped allowing new ones.

BUT.....from 14 Dec anyone with a video (me) will lose their videos too.

BUT DO NOT WORRY

I have a workaround.

Add a video to your FEATURED SECTION!!

But how..........

See this new video. https://lnkd.in/eFVsCa4x

Here some benefits of an Intro Video

💚 Let people see the real you

💛 Get more engagement

💚 Share your top tips

💛 Give some value

💚 Stand out

What's stopping you?

If you get stuck, give me a shout.

Have a great weekend

SUNDAY 12 November 941 impressions

On Sunday it was Remembrance Sunday and I wasn't about to do a post about anything other than letting people know about Remembrance Sunday.

So I just did a simple image with poppies, a little message saying letst we forget and ask the question what does a poppy mean to you.

What does the Poppy mean to you?

It's Remembrance Sunday, to today we'll show our respect at the local church with other people in Sidmouth.

We'll bow our heads and think of how fortunate we are not to be caught up in war and thank our fallen heroes of wars gone by.

We talk of the Great Wars of long ago, but how sad that wars are still raging today.

In a world where we know so much....

Why are we still fighting?

God bless ❤️ 💚 💛

MONDAY 13 November 1,132 impressions

On Monday it was my Monday nudge therefore I always do a little video. I have been in different locations, but as the weather gets colder and the days shorter I am thinking of what to do to keep them fresh.

I changed it back to the format that I did the week before where I added thumbnails of each topic. This makes the whole process about 7 times longer. I wonder if it is worth the extra work. What do you think?

A really common question I'm asked "What content is best on LinkedIn™️"

My answer is to mix it up a bit, add some colour, some value and more importantly make sure you are constant

But when you stare at a blank screen how can you create content that works?

This is why EVERY Monday I create a video with 5 ideas to inspire you to get creative.

When I say COLOUR I mean something about YOU, People buy from people who they know, like, and trust so what can people resonate with?

But also add VALUE by sharing what you know.

Less than 5% of LinkedIn™️ Members actually create content, so by just committing to one post a week you will be in the top 5%.

I also produce a weekly email called The Monday Nudge. Delivered to your inbox every Monday Morning with 5 ideas for content.

💚 You can do this

💛 You can be creative

💚 Just get started today

Previous Week

This week I had a reduction from last week with 1,171 impressions. I was at the house where we are getting ready for our daughter, so it was a change of scene. I had fewer reactions at just 24. Comments dropped 26 to 29. For the video, I only had 60 views from 358 viewers and 144 minutes watched. The views number doesn't make sense when compared with the views from last week. In fact more minutes have been watched this week.

This Week

This week the figures were similar to last week with 1,132 impressions. I was at the house where we are getting ready for our daughter, so it was a change of scene. I had more reactions again, back up to 30. Comments were up by 2 to 32. For the video, I only had 325 views from 286 viewers and 124 minutes watched. I’ve dropped the number of viewers since the last time, so maybe the new format isn’t the answer🤦‍♂️

TUESDAY 14 November 818 impressions

On Tuesday, I shared the food bank story because I was attending a networking event that was encouraging people to bring food bank items.

To make it real I took a photo of the items that I took to the event and used the question about your nearest food bank.

Do you know where your nearest Food Bank is?

This time of year our Food Banks get hit hardest, which is why James Court has asked for donations today.

The NatWest BOOST Networking event is back in Exeter and because there will be over 100 lovely business people attending James has asked us to help.

What a great idea eh?

So if you are coming please raid your cupboards for the following PRIORITY ITEMS

💚 Noodle and pasta snacks.

💛 Tins of vegetables.

💚 Small jars of coffee.

💛 Jams and spreads.

💚 Rice Pudding

💛 Tins of meat.

💚 Tins of fruit.

If you are organising any events in the coming weeks why not ask for donations too?

It's our LinkedIn™️ Local on Thursday Next Week so I will be doing the same.

Every Little helps eh?

Do you know where your nearest food bank is?

If you are coming along I'll see you later and please come and say hi. And maybe get in a selfie 😂

WEDNESDAY 15 November 2,962 impressions

On Wednesday I launched my brand new learning platform for delivering my training. I took a worried looking selfie for this image and it seemed to work.

Rather than being a blatant advert of my post, I turned around and said, do you ever have something exciting to tell the word about, and used anxiety as a hook.

This was a well engaged post and I had over 80 people look at my new platform.

Do you ever have something exciting to tell the world about?

Are you ever nervous in case nobody cares? Do you worry that you've made a big mistake?

Well, today is my sweaty palm moment. 🤮

After a year of deliberation, dilly-dallying and procrastination, I am pleased to announce the launch of my new Learning Platform.

I’ve just invested in a brand way to deliver my courses, training and free resources!! 🥳 🥳 🥳

When I started my business I didn't even know that there was such a thing. But over 2 years later I'm an expert at creating courses and content

I now need a new platform to take me to the next level.

My first course is available NOW. https://15mins.day/35

But I am planning some exciting new things

💚 Easy LinkedIn™️ Challenges

💛 More bespoke Courses

💚 Learning Community

💛 More Free Stuff

💚 One Off Events

💛 Webinars

I've been busy behind the scenes building my course on New Zenler which will give my students even greater flexibility and give me a range of integrated tools to make it easy for me too.

None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for Manmeet Kaur from Webeasy and Luke Netherclift for introducing me to platforms and funnel marketing.

Manmeet has helped me build my new course on New Zenler and I have a load more work to do, but unless I start telling people about it I'll continue waiting for perfection, and keep dallying 🤦‍♂️

And we all know version one is better than nothing.

To celebrate the launch, my first LinkedIn Daily Habit Workshop hosted on this platform will be just £100.00.

This is a saving of £50.00

(I may have some teething problems, so it's a little sweetener 😁)

ALSO big thanks to the technical wizardry of John Espirian and Pavol Rovensky for helping me work out the domain naming protocol. IT WORKS!!!

If you have 5 minutes to give me some feedback, please let me know what you think.....

Much more to come, but we need to get started eh?

So when did your palms sweat?

THURSDAY 16 November 854 impressions

Because I'd spoken to someone recently who was worried about writing content I used this as an excuse to share some thoughts about what you write on LinkedIn.

She was worried that people wouldn’t care and I totally get this. Hence this post.

I loke the style of this post but it didn;t do as well as I was hoping. Maybe I’ll use it again but with an image!

Here is my post.

Who cares about you and what you write? .. Do you say this? 🤦‍♂️

This was mooted yesterday when I had a 15-minute brainstorming session with a lovely LinkedIn user.

She is worried about writing content on LinkedIn™️ because of that statement above.

So it got me thinking...... 🤔

My answer to her was

"You are right. Nobody cares."

Maybe a bit flippant.

But when you think about it, nobody knows you when you start creating content. And I guess if they do not know you, then they actually do not care.

I create content every day and I cannot recall having a message from somebody saying they do not like my content.

But over time, I now get loads of DM's

This is because people do care. And many of those DM's are people that I now call friends.

When you start your content journey be mindful of this and just keep going, because in time you will attract an audience who do care and they'll look out for your content.

And if nobody cares when you start then does it really matter what you write?

Creating content is all about consistency and my advice to this lady was to do just ONE post per week.

💚 Same time and same day every week.

💛 This will get her into a routine

💚 A habit she can build upon

💛 Grow from there

Do you worry about what to write?

Stop overthinking and give it a go.

WHAT'S THE BEST THAT CAN HAPPEN?

Who do you care about on LinkedIn™️ from seeing their content?

FRIDAY 17 November 738 impressions

Every Friday, its the Gratitude post. Sharing all the wonderful things that happen in the week. I get lovely comments from these posts and it does me good to reflect on what I’ve done. As a small business owner its tough, but by reflecting on your achievements you forget about the bad or sad times.

Do you practice gratitude?

Is it me or does Friday come around too fast? Crazy eh?

What are you feeling grateful for today? Do you have anything to share that has brought you joy this week?

What are YOUR highlights for this week? How did it go?

⭐️ 🥳 🙏 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒. 🙏 🥳 ⭐️

Every Friday I share my gratitude and thanks to all the fantastic people in my network who have lifted me up over the last week.

It's all about focusing on the big things and letting the 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗴𝗼.

My week has been hectic as I was in London at the Business Breakthrough Event with Chris Ducker last Friday and met so many great people. I also had some mic-drop moments. Incredible DAY 🙏🥳 ✅ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

My New Platform is Launched!! 🥳 BOOM!!!

We had a family event (Son-in-law's 30th Birthday) so I got to hang out with my family and we all got our best outfits on. Our girls now both live locally so we see them more often now. ❤️ 🥳 🤗

I also had a great chat with Matt Hughes, the YouTube Genius and we were planning and scheming.... Thank you Matt 🙏

I also finally met the delightful Judy Salmon and had a hug with Nicky Dunn, two superstars from the Exeter Empowerment Group. ❤️

And I saw my first ever IRL Ariel Atom here in Sidmouth. The poor guy has to drive it back to Scotland😂. He's gonna be cold eh?

What have you been up to and WHO are you going to shout out because you are grateful?

Come on, share your Gratitude and feel better

What are my thoughts on this week?

The numbers have crashed this week and as I write this it’s the same this week too.

But we shouldn’t let this bother us. It’s all about consistency, so just keep going.

But try and think of something different and see if that works. I’ve been playing with my video format and also trying a post without a photo and mixing it up with document posts and polls.

Because my content is crashing this has a knock on effect of the number of profile views too.

Don’t forget that if you are out and about that you need to let people know that you are on LinkedIn.

Previous week

Last week's reach dropped by nearly 30% impressions are at 18,182. Engagement has dropped too to just 721.

This week

This week's reach as written above has crashed by 30% impressions are at 13,496 Engagement has dropped too toa sad 596

Don’t you just love an algorithm change?

Here are my five best-performing posts this week.
