Maximising Your Content: A Weekly Review Strategy for Better Engagement and Results

NEW WEEK Commencing 7 October
My Weekly Blog: What Do I Do with Content Each Week?
Every week, I review my content to ensure I'm delivering what resonates with people. This practice also allows me to stay informed about current trends and thoroughly evaluate my strategies.
This approach gives my clients and prospective clients an understanding of my content philosophy, and why I engage in content creation and provides additional inspiration for their own writing endeavours.
Additionally, I'm transparent about sharing my analytics. This way, you can observe what succeeds and what doesn't, hopefully offering valuable insights and guidance for your content journey.
Views;
Previous Week My numbers this week have dropped a bit with 248 people viewing my profile this week. 2,172 people have viewed my profile in the last 90 days, but the graph says down 23% this week. Next week I have two conferences, so I am expecting a bit of an uptick!

Views This Week My numbers this week have dropped by 19% with only 206 people viewing my profile this week. However, the number of people who have viewed my profile in the last 90 days is up to 2,193.

Followers
In the previous Week my numbers were at 8,551that’s another 88 new followers.
This Week - 8,611 only 60 new followers this week, but even at that level of organic growth that’s 3,000 new followers a year. I am adding my followers organically. I know of people who add 700 new followers every month. That’s a staggering 8,400 new followers every year.
I prefer the organic route because the people following me are choosing to follow me, so therefore more tuned into my content.
975 Search appearances for the previous week and 917 searches this week. Down a tad this week

Follows Last Week 174
Follows This Week 174 no change.

Saturday was happiness. National forgiveness and happiness day. So I wanted to write about that and to find out what people did.
So I started off with a hook “Who do you want to forgive or what about celebrating happiness” I explained about the day and listed some reasons for my happiness, No photos, no polls, just a text post.
Here’s that post
Who do you want to forgive? Or What about celebrating Happiness
Did you know that today is "National Forgiveness and Happiness Day"?
I am all about forgiveness.
Life is too short to be grumpy eh?
My forgiveness is huge. But I do forgive the actions of someone.
Because those actions caused me to pivot.
And thanks to those actions I am HERE, and HAPPY 😁
And look at the benefits!!

SUNDAY 8 October 4700 impressions
All weekend I was painting and decorating for my daughter at her new home. On Sunday, my post asked the question, “Would you do anything for your kids?”
I shared about the painting and what I did for the children and how we help our kids and showed some photos of me painting and the state of the house and almost finished.
This was a post that resonated with many people and it got a lot of interaction.
Do you help your kids?

Would you do ANYTHING for your kids?
I mean anything. Even if it meant missing out on a paddleboard session in the sunshine?
We do don't we? Because they are our kids. And even when they are married with their own family we still help out if and when we can.
There is big excitement in the Leeds household this weekend because my eldest daughter has moved back to Devon.
To be precise she and her family have moved into our home while they tidy up the home they have just purchased.
First job?
Get the front tidied up. ✅
It looked tired, unloved and just a little sad.
A day up there with some paint and a ladder and we are starting to breathe new life in this property that soon they can call home.
I just need longer arms or a bigger ladder, but the beauty of this small town is the community and one friend has already said how great the house is looking. And would you like to borrow my big ladder?
So today we will finish off the front. With a big ladder. 🥳
What do you do for your kids?
Would you give up your paddleboard?
Let me know what you have been up to.

MONDAY 9 October 1,307 impressions
On Monday, I always do my five ideas to post content and that just makes it simple for me each week. I don't have to think about something new. This week, because I was decorating, I did the video up on the ladder. I also introduced new software I used to edit the video.

Tired of staring at that blank LinkedIn™️ cursor with no idea what to share?
Every Monday I bring you 5 ideas in a video, but this week I have been playing with Descript because of the road noise. 🥳
Have a watch to get some inspiration for your content and get...
💚 5 Ideas to help you create content.
💛 New Topics every Monday
💚 Build up your content
💛 Stop feeling blank
Descript was fun. ( I need to do a bit more, but not bad for my first attempt)
It uses AI to reduce background noise. I sound a bit 'funny' in places, but you can hear me. Plus it's added captions too. Let me know what you think.
I'm now going to watch a few tutorial videos to find out how I can take my videos to the next level.
What video editor do you use?
What topics will;l you be talking about today?

Previous Week
I had 1,595 impressions so down quite a bit on last week. This week I was not in front of a live audience! Reactions are lower at 28 but comments only 1 lower at 37. For the video, I had 511 views from 462 viewers and 167 minutes watched. Which isn’t too few than last week.
This Week
This week I had 1,307 impressions which is lower than last week. Maybe the danger of the ladder put people off? Reactions are lower at 19 as are the comments down by ten to 27. For the video, I had 425 views from 389 viewers and 126 minutes watched. Which is also lower than last week. If the engagement is up then you get more views.
I need to think of something more sensible this week!

TUESDAY 10 October 2,597 impressions
On Tuesday, I asked the question about getting permission before you share a photo and I used a photo of me with three amazing businesswomen and asked questions to see what people thought.
It's got a lot of engagement because lots of people use photos. Lots of people are out and about at events and therefore I got great engagement with many points of view raised.

Do you ask if you can share it before you take a photo?
In this world of photos to share on various platforms is it accepted that the photo will turn up online?
During a training session the other day we had a great debate about this and it got me wondering what you do.
This is a photo of me with three of my favourite ladies in the Bookkeeping and Accounting space. The lovely Jo Wood and Zoe Whitman FCCA from the awesome The 6 Figure Bookkeeper
And the marvellous marketing guru Amanda C. Watts 💛 of Business Advisor Academy. Amanda did an incredible talk at this event too.
All three ladies know the score with social media and know that if I take a photo it WILL get used on social media.
I'm not sure if I specifically asked for permission to use it on LinkedIn™️ when we took the photo, but this photo gives all of us exposure.
It's that exposure that helps build our personal brands so we are well-versed in the photo protocol.
In fact, I encourage people to take photos with me.
What do you do?
Do you ask, or is it accepted that a photo will be online?

WEDNESDAY 11 October 710 impressions
This was a poor-performing post because LinkedIn does not promote Events as well as it does other types of posts. But the benefit of this type of post is that it creates a marker for the event that people can sign up and I can see who is planning to come along.
I talked about my special episode of LinkedIn Live which is due to go out on Tuesday the 17th of October. I have been doing live shows for the last couple of years and I've now hit 200 so I wanted to share it with everybody.

What would you do if you hit 200 live shows?
Would you carry on regardless, or would you have a special show to celebrate this milestone?
200 Shows is huge, so I am celebrating!
With some huge guests too!!
I started with my first LinkedIn Live Show on 21 July 2021 with Vic Williams as my very first guest. I have then done a show nearly every week since then.
I then added a second show specifically for Accountants and Bookkeepers on Wednesday 27 October 2021 when I interviewed the inspiring Jo Wood and Zoe Whitman.
The combined number of shows now exceeds 200 but this is the nearest date to be able to celebrate.
Because LinkedIn has been a huge part of my business and I am surrounded and supported by so many LinkedIn superstars I thought I’d get some of my friends to join me for my celebration show.
Joining me next week I have Gillian Whitney, Gus Bhandal, and John Espirian. All three of them are speaking at the UK’s first LinkedIn-focused conference, UpLift Live
So we will have plenty to discuss.
Please come and join us and tell your friends too. Let's see if we can have the most ever number of viewers to my show.
If you want to know more join us too and ask my guests your questions, then please put this in your diary.
Join me to find out more!
Hit the Remind Me button to make sure you don't miss this LinkedIn Live Event. Plus you’ll also get notified and then have a chance to watch the recording if you’ve hit that button.
Do you know anyone who has done 200 LinkedIn Live shows?
Who should I have as my guest on future shows?

THURSDAY 12 October 2,551 impressions
On Thursday I talked about gluten-free food at events. I did this because I was at an event the previous week and saw a plate of fruit that was labelled gluten-free.
Fruit is obviously gluten-free, but it got me thinking about all the poor people who do not have an option when it comes to food allergies.

Do you get fed up with how your food intolerances are managed?
How do you feel when the majority of guests are eating cool stuff and you just get a plate of fruit?
I saw this at an event recently. 🤦♂️
In the morning there was cake and cookies, and for the gluten-free contingent some yummy-looking almond slices.
But by the afternoon it was just a plate of fruit while we all had more cake!!
I felt it was unfair.
And lazy.
I started my career as a chef (a long long time ago) and back then vegetarian food was not widespread so the veggie options were an omelette or a nut roast 😂.
But things have moved on and you see all kinds of options in some establishments.
In fact there are some establishments that are vegan only.
What venues look after your dietary needs?
Any awesome recommendations?
What are your thoughts?

This week was no exception. Do you share your gratitude?

Did you have a busy week? What are you grateful for?

Don't be shy, give them a pat on the back 🥳
Have a fantastic weekend

What are my thoughts on this week?
My week was a lot slower than last week because some of my content didn’t hit the mark. It seems that if you have a good couple of posts then the next ones do better too. My mistake this week was to make the EVENT the MAIN post for the day. What I normally do with an event is share it later in the day so that it doesn’t impact my numbers and therefore is an extra post.
I do not actually plan what I create for the week because I like to be reactive and change according to where I am and what’s happening. This works for me. However many creators spend a few hours planning for the coming days or weeks.
Because I write so much content I can think of something on the spot. Maybe I should start planning?
What do you do and how often do you create content?
Here is the breakdown.
Previous week
Last week has increased to 19,224 but the chart says a drop by 8% Not sure how this works. My Sunday post about the wedding was a popular post. My engagement bounced back by 7% to 659.
With the polls and the questions that I asked this week I was going to get better engagement so this is what we need to do more. Make it easy for people to engage!

This week
This week has seen a huge increase in impressions to 22,144. However, the chart says a drop by 1% My engagement says it’s also lower by 8% but the numbers show different at an impressive 824.
Because I was busy with training this week many people were checking out my content. That always helps.

Here are my five best-performing posts this week.
