How does my content perform each week on LinkedIn?

NEW WEEK Commencing 18 February

Every week I share my performance with my content on LinkedIn. Here are my musings and also each post, some narrative and the analytics!

I knew that this week would be a bit slower than last week after my 23K post on Wednesday last week. All my numbers are down. But that's the joy of social media. You have good and bad weeks, but the thing to remember that it’s consistency and keep showing up, which is what I do and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Views Last Week 1,814 viewers in the last 90 days. up 4% 195 people viewed my profile

Views This Week 1,773 viewers in the last 90 days. Drop of 21% 168 people looked at my profile this week which is 21% down on last week.

Followers Last Week 6,873 - This Week - 6.910 I only added 37 extra followers this week.

Hashtag Follows Last Week 124

Hashtag Follows This Week 127 Another 3 were added this week.

I had a meeting with a client of mine who was not happy with my post performance. A quick look through showed that they were using stock images that they found online. These are the corporate looking images that do not convey ANYTHING about my client.

So I shared my findings in this post to try to encourage people to be more authentic. And that’s the thing. It’s all about authenticity. We want to connect with the real you and therefore an image of an actor in an office doesn't cut it. In fact, the post would fare better without an image.

Read the post to find out more and visit the actual post to see what everybody else reckoned!

STOP IT WITH THE STOCK IMAGES 😱

Just be YOU!!! ❤️

I see so many people thinking that they need to put an image on their LinkedIn post that they use stock images🤦‍♂️

You do not need images for a successful post.

My 2 biggest reaching posts in the last 90 days did not have images. Many of my posts do well but do not have an image or something that I created in Canva.

Text-only posts do really well on LinkedIn!

With a stock image (I'm talking like something that you get on one of these free image libraries) you look like a corporate company doing a sales pitch and the subconscious mind makes us scroll.

Think about it, what do you do when you see a stock image?

But what do you do when you see a great question at the start of a post?

💚 You're hooked eh?

💛 Do you stop and read more?

💚 You are intrigued

It's these actions that make the algorithm push this post further.

Scrolling past a post tells LinkedIn that it is not interesting and then we don't get to see your hard work.

Give it a go

Be brave.

You do not need an image on every LinkedIn post.

What do you think?

I will be launching my podcast this week and therefore I did a bit of teasing to get people thinking about podcasts. I did a poll because this always gets a good bit of engagement and I am curious to see if people still listen to music when they are out walking.

It seems 56% of people love their podcasts and audiobooks with 39% listening to music either streaming or on the radio. Great news for us musicians.

What do you listen to?

Do you enjoy listening to stuff when you are about your day?

What do you listen to while out and about?

Being old school it was all about the music for me.

I'd have a mix tape and wear it out on my walkman. (A walkman was the 80's version of an analogue iPod😂)

But since I have discovered podcasts and audiobooks, my whole life has changed.

Really changed.

I am now on a constant quest to learn as much as I can. Not just for me. But for my clients and others too.

The more I know, the more that I can help and the more value I can bring.

But it's helping me with so much with personal development too. We are so lucky with all these wonderful sources of information at our fingertips. Well, actually EARS eh? 😁

What podcasts do you like to listen to and what should I include in my new podcast?

With the launch of my podcast on the horizon I thoughts I'd see just how many people love a good podcast or audiobook. Or do we love to listen to music?

Come on, don't be shy, please add your vote.

Podcast Launch day today so there wasn’t much else I could do. I created my image using Canva and made sure I mentioned a few people who had helped me to get this far.

Do you ever get anxious hitting the PUBLISH button?

I did. 🤢

I've just launched my Podcast Channel!!!

I've always wanted to have a podcast, but always thought it was too difficult.

Big thanks to Tom Edwards for making it happen. He spent some time with me to help me get started. Showed me what to do and gave me some top tips.

I have been broadcasting Live on LinkedIn for over 150 shows so maybe the time is right to put it out there.

So here it is. My Podcast. 15 Minutes With.

I'll be uploading previous interviews and recording new ones so please get in touch if you have something to talk about or if you fancy being grilled by me 😂.

It's available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music. Links in Comments. Please subscribe, leave a review and tell your friends.

If you have any suggestions for future guests or where to take this podcast, please get in touch. I'm learning every day.

I have uploaded 9 episodes so far, and more to come.

The first episode is with the lovely Cheryl Sharp FCCA who talks about her domestic abuse.

I have also uploaded the episode with the delightful Sam White, Founder and Global CEO of Stella Insurance. We talk about her best and worst car.

Plus there's the interview with Sandro Forte, the international public speaker and philanthropist.

Wish me luck and let me know what you think.

When did you get anxious about hitting PUBLISH?

I had a message from a client. HELP, I feel scared to post. She’s not alone and after some research I wrote this post to try to help people get over that fear. I’ve also done a video. It needs editing and with so many other things to do I’m afraid you’ll have to wait. If you email me at ashley@fullcupcoaching.co.uk I’ll send you a link when it is completed.

We need to get over our fear or else nobody will know who we are.

What are your tips?

Here’s the post. No image needed.

But then again, maybe if I had used an image……. Who knows

Do you worry about creating content on LinkedIn?

Do your palms sweat prior to pressing the post button?

It's OKAY, don't worry, you are not alone. It's even a recognised phobia.

Did you know its called VISIOBIBLIOPHOBIA

It's a newly coined term that refers to the fear of creating visual or written content for social media platforms.

This fear may stem from a variety of factors, including a

💚 Fear of criticism

💛 Negative feedback

💚 Lack of confidence in one's creative abilities,

💛 Fear of vulnerability

💚 Fear of exposure

If you think that only 1% of people create content, then that means that for every 100 people who see your post, only one of them will have a clue about what it's like to create!

The other 99 people think that you are a hero because they don't create either!😂

I'm working on a video to help you to overcome this fear and would be interested to hear what other factors come into play when you are thinking about creating content.

Share with me your stories of overcoming this fear and what it's like for you now.

If you really struggle and do not want to share your thoughts here, then please drop me a DM, I want to help.

THURSDAY 23 February 575 impressions

I’m running my content creation workshop this week and thinking of what we need to do to get engagement. Hence my helpful post.

What a rubbish performing post and it gives so much value too. Because it has so little reach I will repurpose this as a document post to help people think about engagement. Oh the irony.

Watch this space.

Here’s the post

What stops you in your tracks to make you read a post from someone?

Do you stop scrolling when you see a question? Or do you prefer a photograph or video?

With so much content on LinkedIn, everyone is trying to get you to stop and read. So what works and what is a waste of time?

I create content every day and review this content each week and share it all in my blogs on my website. All the data and my thoughts on performance.

Because I see this I know what works for ME, but does that mean I know what works for you?

Here are some of the tips that I use when creating content.

💚 Would you stop and read it?

💛 Try starting with a question

💚 Think of a great hook

💛 Think about how newspapers write their headlines

💚 Be topical

💛 Try humour

💚 Space out your text with white space

💛 But not every line 😂

💚 Add emoji's for colour

💛 But 🤦‍♂️ NOT ❌ Too Many 😱

💚 Bullet points help too

What works for you? Let us know your thoughts.

What was your most successful post and how did it start? Maybe go back and see how you created that. Follow some good creators and learn from them.

It doesn't have to be difficult, it's all about practice and trying different things to see what works for you.

Don't be shy, what works for you? Let us know your thoughts.

FRIDAY 24 February 869 impressions

My gratitude post didn't do so well today. I guess this is because I didn;t get so much engagement with yesterday’s post? What do you think?

I still had a load of lovely messages. Maybe a better image?

What are you grateful for?

What do you love about a Friday? For me, it's Gratitude Day.

What are you Grateful for? Who has been your champion?

Friday is the day that I say thanks to the lovely people who have helped me through the week and given me something to be grateful for.

Who are you going to shout out this Friday?

⭐️ 🥳 🙏 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒. 🙏 🥳 ⭐️

Here are my thanks this week.

YOU for a start for reading and engaging with my content.

I wouldn't do all this if I didn't get any feedback, so Thank you for your support this week. ❤️ 🙏

💚 The photo this week is from our gig last Saturday. Beautifully captured by Sarka Andersonova. Thank you Sarka 🤗

💚 Big up to Hayley Joy Weinberg 🦋 for jumping on a quick zoom to give us some feedback on my LinkedIn Daily Habit Workshop.

Hayley told me straight and gave some great tips for what else I can do to share with more people, Hayley you are awesome. Thank you 🙏 ❤️

💚 OMG. I've got another Speaking Gig!! Big up to Mark Allen and his TAG community for booking me for a talk at the Annual Conference in October. Thank you Mark 🙏

💚 When the going gets tough...... You have a chat with your coach. Thank you Jason Brockman for helping me to see the wood for the trees and put some plans in place. Squirrel time all booked! Thank you Jason.

💚 Finally, we're planning the next 'ONE session' workshop with Luke Netherclift. So rather than 5 days I'll be doing my signature session in one morning. Luke has helped me to get this working on his Let's Level Up platform. Thank you Luke 🥳

If you spend a few minutes thinking about gratitude you'll feel so much better and pat yourself on your back for a job well done.

What are you grateful for this week and who has helped you?

Let's spread the gratitude and have a lovely weekend.

I always knew that coming of the back of such a crazy week the numbers would be down this week. That’s par for the course. Especially when you create content every day. I also do two live broadcasts every week which means 4 extra posts. One each for the broadcast and another for the ‘Event’ when I set it up. I also create my newsletter each monday on LinkedIn so that's 5 posts and my normal daily content.

WOW. That’s a lot of content eh?

Here is the breakdown.

Last week I had an outrageous 28,800 impressions up a massive 128% and 767 engagements up by 37% too so not sure what happened.

This week I took a nosedive, but even so 18,496 impressions is nothing to be sneezed at. I still have over 1M impressions for the last 12 months.

605 engagements down by 31% but still a great level of engagement. I need to work really hard on my content to see if I can up the numbers on this week.

I have some ideas.

Here are my best 5 posts this week. Proves the point that photos are not necessary!

If you want a hand with your content please get in touch, and sign up for my weekly email that gives 5 new content ideas each week. I call it the Monday Nudge or why not check out my content book?
