SATURDAY 2 September 1,227 impressions

On Saturday, I was challenged to write a post about productivity. So I wrote the title, When are you at your most productive? Because that was the title that was given to me and I talked about procrastination and making sure that we're doing the right things.

I used this as an opportunity to add value by sharing some tips that I use.

I turned these into bullet points to make it easier to read. I then asked the question to see what other people do too.

When are you at your most productive?

What do you do to beat procrastination and make sure that you get things done in a timely fashion?

It's not easy, is it?

Especially with so many interruptions and 'important things' vying for our attention.

I'd love to know your tips.

When it's nearly time for dinner and I have to create a blog I can get that task done really quickly and efficiently ( 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘱𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦. ❤️ )

But that's not all the time.

Most of the time I have a list of things to do but I am also on LinkedIn (an occupational hazard for me eh?🤦‍♂️😂

💚 Autoresponder on my email

💚 Less time on LinkedIn

💛 Time blocking

So come on, how do we fill the work bucket and get things done?

SUNDAY 3 September 3,175 impressions

On Sunday I started talking about my banner because on Monday I planned a drop-in where I was helping people with creating a banner. Using Canva.

I used an image that I created on Canva and I titled it, Do You Love Your Banner? And so when I started off the post, I said, have you got a cover poster, a cover photo on your banner? I put in some reasons for this with some bullets. If you look at my bullet points, I use a green and a yellow heart every time I do a bullet point because that reaffirms my brand of green and yellow and the heart because I care and wear my heart on my sleeve.

I also put a link in to connect with my event so that people could join.

Have you got a Cover Photo (Banner) on your LinkedIn profile?

Do you LOVE it? ❤️ Or could it do with a bit of work? Or maybe you just have the default banner🤦‍♂️

When people visit your LinkedIn Profile your Banner is the biggest part of your real estate so you need to make it stand out.

We make snap decisions.

You know we should "Never judge a book by its cover"

But we all do eh? 😁

Your Banner is your book cover.

If you do not have a banner you get the default banner. A grey box 🤦‍♂️

What does that say about you?

💚 You need people to know what you do

💛 You need to share your personality

💚 You need to look professional

💛 You need to share your brand

💚 You need to GRAB Attention

💛 You need to stand out

It is dead easy to create a banner and there are many people here who can design it for you so what is holding you back?

What is your favourite banner that you have seen on LinkedIn? Who do you know who can design a great banner?

Let's share some great designs and designers

In my Free Drop in Surgery tomorrow I'll be sharing some design hacks in Canva to help you design a banner yourself. It's not difficult and I want to help you. There is still some room if you want to come along.

Previous Week

Dropped again with 1,186 impressions. But reactions are down massively to just 15 reactions, and comments have dropped by nearly half to just 33 that's got to be because of the bank holiday and because I create so much content the video doesn’t have so much time to run.

As you’d expect, because of poor engagement Views of this video are down again. 342 views and only 305 video viewers. Only 111 minutes watched which is an hour down on last week.

This Week

Dropped again with 1021 impressions. Reactions are the same at just 15 reactions, but comments have increased a bit to just 39.

Very similar levels of watch to last week. Views of this video are up a bit at 357 views and a few more video viewers at 320. Only 110 minutes watched which is a minute down on last week.

TUESDAY 5 September 1,125 impressions

I wanted to try and get people to buy into my workshop that is happening this week. So I had a photograph of myself, but behind me, I had a couple of slides that showed what LinkedIn was all about. I wrote the title, “How does LinkedIn work?”

The problem with sales-type posts is whether will people actually read and engage with them. So I started the conversation off with do people buy from people who know who they know, like and trust? That is what I teach. I teach making yourself visible so that people can build a relationship with you. And so it's all about know, like and trust.

This evoked some great reactions, but no extra sales to my workshop.

Do people buy from people who they know, like, and trust?

Or do they go for the big brands? What about you, do you like to build a relationship before you spend money?

When I left my beloved career as a chef I became a sales guy and have been pretty succesful becuase I've always built relationships so that people knew me, liked me and finally trusted me enough to buy from me.

In the olden days, we didn't have internet less alone LinkedIn so I did it the hard way, constant meetings, shows, networking etc.

It all took a long time🤦‍♂️

But with LinkedIn we can build awesome realtionships.

Infact many of my friends have been found on LinkedIn (You know who you are 💚 💛)

Next week I am running my 33rd LinkedIn Daily Habit Workshop where I'll share my framework to help you build that Know-Like-Trust so that you get a steady stream or new connections, referals and new clients.

And if you don't like it, for any reason, I will REFUND your money.

Just 15 minutes every day next week at 11:15am via Zoom, with me LIVE every day!! PLUS a 15-Minute 1:1 with me to consoidate everything at the end. I can even make your banner for you.

I record every session so if you have the dentist on Tuesday you can easily catch up.

We have a group message centre, so any questions, I will be there to help. And there is no such thing as a silly question.

By the end of the week

💚 You'll see the results of your new skills and knowledge

💛 You'll be more confident to create content

💚 You'll have a more optimised profile

💛 You'll start getting into a habit

💚 and much more

If you want to get more from LinkedIn, let me help you.

It is just £135.00 and you can get your place booked here

Limited to just 15 places!

Do people buy from people who they know, like, and trust?

What say you?

WEDNESDAY 6 September 3,350 impressions

Do you ever make mistakes? On Wednesday, I shared my mine. I had a problem the previous day with my shortcodes and therefore I lost a lot of my links to my pages and everybody going to my website would have had the error message 404 not found.

So I cut this into an image by doing a screenshot and then asked the question, what do you do when you see this and I talked about my mistake.

In this post, I was being vulnerable. I was letting people know that anybody can make a mistake and it's what you do to fix that mistake.

And luckily I had great support from the people that I deal with. That was the general idea of the post which did well because a lot of people obviously have similar problems.

What do you do when you see this?

I had a load of messages yesterday from people who had been trying to find a link I sent 🤦‍♂️

Some days are great, and others are a little. ARRGGHH!!!!!!

Frustrating to say the least.

I use a service for redirecting my links so rather than a huge long meaningless URL I convert them to something snappy and short.

For example, the link to purchase my book is super long, but with my URL of 15mins dot day I just add "/book" at the end

Brilliant when it works.

Yesterday it broke🤦‍♂️. And I lost all 127 links 😱

I used the wrong code and inadvertently deleted EVERY link.

Fortunately, my provider has a back up so normal service will be resumed ASAP. If you are missing a link from me, then this is why, please DM me or try again later today.

What issues are you having and can your provider fix things easily?

I’m at a conference next week and I wanted people to know that they could book some time with me at Accountex. This is an industry conference where people can go to see information about accountants and bookkeepers and the industry. It was a specialized post and therefore didn't do very well.

I put in a link so that people could book some time with me which resulted in a couple of bookings.

When you visit your next Conference do you have any plans or do you just wing it?

It's only a couple of weeks until Accountex and I'll be there with Nikolai Naylor on stand G15 to help you with your LinkedIn questions.

FRIDAY 8 September 1,601 impressions

Finally, on Friday, I always do my gratitude post. So I look at photos that I've done during the week and talk about why I am grateful for all the things that have happened in the week and encourage people to comment and share their good fortunes too.

Are you grateful that it's Friday?

Do you share your gratitude? Every Friday I share mine and love reflecting on my week. We have so much to be grateful for and it doesn't have to be huge things eh?

Just being on my paddleboard makes me grateful

Who knows Maddy Alexander-Grout what a fun and knowledgeable woman. She's also got a cool app and is helping people with money mindset and other cool things. She's also gonna be on my live show soo. Thank you Maddy. ❤️ 🙏

What are my thoughts on this week?

A mixed bag this week with a couple of posts getting great engagement and a couple of posts bombing. Overall the numbers were similar, but with more people back to work I was expecting a bigger response from my content. It just goes to show that when you sell on this platform people are turned off.

Keep doing it and the fact that you were getting great feedback and engagement will long be forgotten and people will see your content as just a sales page.

Keep bringing in the helpful content and get people to engage with you. Seel now and then, but not twice in one week!!

Here is the breakdown.

Previous week

This week has dropped like a stone with only 17,398 impressions, down a massive 32% With a peak of just 4,102. My engagement has dropped by a whopping 37% to just 582. Thanks for the Bank Holiday. NOT

This week

This week has dropped again, but 17,790 impressions is at a similar level although the graph says that I’m down 10% My peak last week a similar number at 4,121, down a massive 32% With a peak of just 4,102. My engagement crashed again by 25% to just 506.

It’s all about creating content that engages not sells!! Two of my posts this week were about selling my services. One for the workshop and another for the conference. People do not care and find it hard to engage. The other fear here is that if you do it too much, you will start turning off your clients.

Here are my five best-performing posts this week.
