How Do I Know What Content Works Best on LinkedIn?

NEW WEEK Commencing 29 July
My Weekly Blog: What Do I Do with Content Each Week?
Every week I look at the content that I have created on LinkedIn and I give a review of how each individual post has done. I do this so that I understand what's going on, but I also do this so I can share with you what works, and what doesn't, and give you some ideas on what to create.
Do you review your own content?

Views; Previous Week My views have been pretty similar with 2,156 people viewing my profile in the last 90 days. I did have more people looking at my profile this week though with 154 people looking this week. Down by just 9%, again little activity.
Views This Week Seems to be a similar pattern this week too. 2,140 people viewing my profile in the last 90 days. Only down 1% this week, so I need to be more active next week eh?

Followers
In the previous Week 7,874 which is another increase of 25 followers again, not many, but no less activity.
This Week - 7,918 which is another increase of 44 followers again a few more but not as many as before the summer started.
351 Search appearances for the previous week! 393 searches this week, so increasing a bit.

Hashtag Follows Last Week 165
Hashtag Follows This Week 166 up 1, so I’m moving.
SATURDAY 29 July 696 impressions
This week started off on Saturday where I started off with this post. It is a post about how to supercharge your small business. It was an event post. And I wanted to talk about the event and get people to come to the event.
So by using the event post, then people can be invited, they can sign up for it, and it gives them, information so I can use this to monitor the activity of people coming to this event.
If we look into the post you can see what I've written. I still have tickets left if you’d like to join us. MORE INFO HERE

SUNDAY 30 July 4,131 impressions
On Sunday, I did a poll and I asked people what their favourite or most used platform was because I'm doing an awful lot of work on LinkedIn.
I'm also trying to up my game on YouTube. So I thought, why not ask a question?
A poll is always a good way to get great engagement. It's dead easy for people to vote. And if you make the suggestions, you get up to four answers. The best practice is to do three that are serious answers, then you've got “other” as an option so that if there is anything else there that people want to comment on, they can add their own answers, rather than scrolling by.
What is your favourite platform? Did you do the poll?

What is your favourite or most used platform?
Do you spend more time on one platform than the other, and why?
Mine are LinkedIn and YouTube, I also dabble on Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.
As you know, I put all my energies into LinkedIn because it is an incredible platform for helping me to connect with people, learn stuff and ultimately attract new clients.
Do you find that it's a good tactic to be a master of one?
I also love YouTube because I can share all my videos.
At the Last count, I have 319 videos. 🤗 I'm not sure how that happened, but I always add three videos each week from my content plan
But if you want to know anything about LinkedIn I'll create a video to show you how.
How are you utilising your favourite platforms and how is it helping you?
💚 Do you get new clients because of what you do?
💛 Do you monetise your content?
💚 Is it just a fun side hustle?
💛 Is it fun, or a labour of love?
Let us know what you are up to with a quick vote in my poll today and share your experience of what works for you and why you are in love ❤️ with your favourite platform.

Monday is always my day for doing a video to give people five ideas for creating content.
So I do this every single Monday. It is part of my routine. I have an email that I send out every Monday too. I call it my Monday nudge which goes out to people who've connected with me and clients.
I also send the same content out on LinkedIn using the LinkedIn newsletter feature. If you'd like to know more about this please get in touch or have a look on my YouTube channel. Here is the link.

Are you staring at a blank screen this morning trying to create content?
Not sure what you can write about today? Or have you lost your mojo for coming up with an idea?
Fear not.
It's my weekly video.
5 ideas to get those creative juices flowing.
There is content everywhere and this week I explain about your camera roll and using some of your old photos!
I also talk about Harps 😁
Content creation is a powerful tool that opens doors to growth, engagement, and authenticity so watch the video and be inspired to have a go.
With the holiday season on us, you can really capitalise with your content.
If you are still stuck, give me a shout. I am here to help.
Or why not check out our awesome workshop..... See my featured section.

TUESDAY 1 August 714 impressions
On Tuesday, I launched another event using the event feature again. This time it is for marketing.
I had a Zoom with Nicky I was talking all about marketing.
Nicky was very kind and she suggested that she came with me and we did a free marketing power hour. So that was what I chose to do and I've called it the power hour.
I've put it under an event and I've invited some people. Along. But I started off with a decent hook to get people engaged in the post.
The event post is a great way to see who's coming, but it's not a very good post tool to get engagement and LinkedIn doesn't seem to push it as much as it does some of the other types of posts that you can do.
But at least I can invite people so that’s what I have been doing this week.
Inviting people along to the session for free!!

Are you pondering over your marketing and drawing a blank?
Do you despair because your plans and ideas don't seem to work?
I have the same feelings. Our Workshop early bird sales have not done as well as I had imagined. (We're selling enough and it's early days)
But when it goes like this you start questioning yourself eh? Do you?
Here are my thoughts on this last week......
💚 What am I doing wrong?
💛 Why does my marketing suck
💚 Are people fed up with me?
💛 Should I get a job?
Seriously. 😱 It happens to us all.
But I have lots of friends, and my wife believes 100% in what I do. ⭐️
These friends have been awesome, I have another meeting later today with a mate who reached out and I have had loads of encouraging messages too.
But I was blessed yesterday. ❤️ Truly blessed.
By the incredible Nicky Mee
I've known Nicky for ages, we're connected on here and often drop a DM or comment on each other's posts, but yesterday we had a scheduled call.
AND OMG, she blew my mind.
I took four pages of notes and then she gave me this.....
She said that she'd love to help and would join me on a Zoom to answer questions about marketing.
So if I know of anyone who needed a hand, get them on Zoom and we can all share our frustrations and help each other become better at marketing and come up with some refreshing strategies.
How remarkable is that?
It will be in a couple of weeks' time so if you want a hand, want to find out stuff or have any questions, please join us.
Tag your friends and come along too.
I set it all up in Eventbrite so it's FREE and easy to register. Places are limited to the first 50 people.
Thank you, Nicky, you are an angel 😇 and a bundle of marketing fun.
And thanks to everyone else for your kind words of encouragement and offers of help.
I love you all, you know who you are ❤️

WEDNESDAY 2 August 2,412 impressions
On Wednesday I was talking about coaching. Because I'm a coach I want people to know about coaching I want people to think that I'm a coach but I also wanted to give a shout out to those coaches that have helped me.
By doing this, I'm tagging them so that they will see the post and add a comment. But more importantly, I want to get people to start talking about coaching and thinking about coaching.
Looking at my post, for example, Becky Craven is not a normal sort of coach for business or personal development, but she has been coaching me with Instagram. Think about these sorts of things that you need to pull out and look at.
So this was my post today. What does a coach look like? Well, Ted Lasso seems to be quite a famous person. He's a fictitious character on a TV show where he is a football coach. So I chose his image as a photo for this post.

Do you have a coach? Not quite like Ted Lasso, but do you?
Or do you find the idea of having a coach a bit woo-woo?
It's really tough on your own eh, so to have a coach helps tremendously.
I've been working with some incredible people over the years because having a coach keeps me focused and accountable.
It all started many years ago when I was hating my job and in sales.
If you hate your job in sales you have a drop in numbers and ultimately that makes it difficult to find another job. 🤦♂️
I started working with Dave (now retired) and he changed my life around. I smashed my numbers and ended up getting an amazing new role.
More recently after setting up my new business, I worked with Richard Carpenter. What a godsend he was in my early months of setting up.
And since then I have worked with some incredible people who have all helped me learn a bit more, push myself a bit more or just get out of a funk.
So today I want to shout out all these amazing people. Because I don't think that people really understand the benefit of a coach.
And I wouldn't be in my third year of business without them.
John Lamerton and Jason Brockman from the 1 Percent Club, have great content, wonderful community and great accountability.
Becky Craven, top Instagram Coach, and a jolly good friend.
Luke Netherclift for kicking my butt to get my Offers working better.
Michelle Haslam the TikTokpreneur who knows her stuff on that video thingy 😂
Michael Heppell, a true gent who's helped me with my speaking gigs
Ben Rotheray for helping me to find my direction
Tracy Irwin who is currently helping me with all of the above and getting it into a sense of order.
I also have many friends who I speak with regularly and we share picking each other's brains to keep each other sane.
Thank you, you know who you are. 🙏 ❤️
Being self-employed is tough, but with friends and coaches it is so much easier and I cannot imagine where I would be if it was just me on my own in my shed.
Who do you rely on to keep you sane?
And what about your awesome coach? Give them a namecheck.

THURSDAY 3 August 1,940 impressions
Thursday I did a LinkedIn document post or a carousel as some people like to call it. The Document post is a PDF that I created in Canva, and here is a link to my YouTube channel on how to create these.
The reason for this post is that I wanted to find out why people don't send me a connection request when they want to connect. I started off with a hook to get people to stop and then used the document to give away ideas for connecting.
Do you send connection requests?

Do you send connection requests when you want to connect?
Should we be more polite? Or do you find it easier to just hit connect and cross your fingers?
I reckon that around 90% of people who want to connect with me just hit the send button rather than sending a personalised message.
Is this impolite or lazy, or is it because we just don't think about it?
Or we do not even know that it is possible?
Or on the mobile device, it is actually HIDDEN 🤦♂️
If you send me a message I am more than likely to connect with you because you have shared some of your personality or given me a compelling reason to connect.
If you do not send a message I scratch my head and have to do some thinking.
💚 Should we connect with everybody?
💛 Or should we curate a network that resonates with us?
I have got some ideas for messages that you can send and have created this document post for you to download and keep.
I also have a spreadsheet that I can share if you DM me.
What do you do?
Should we take an extra few minutes and send a message?

FRIDAY 4 August 904 impressions
Fridays, I always do my gratitude post. In my gratitude post, I say thank you to the people that have helped me. I reflect on what has gone well in the week. I look for all the wins that I've had, be they big or small. It might just be that the toast landed jam-side up!
I highlighted a few people and put some photos using Canva and said thank you. I also mentioned my workshop that's coming very soon in September. (This may have cost me some reach as my numbers are down this Friday.

Where did that week go? What are you grateful for?
How was your week? Do you celebrate your little wins or even your epic wins?
🌟🙏 My Friday Thanks 🙏🌟

Have you found the power of gratitude to elevate Your Happiness?
Sharing thanks can bring positivity to your life and can transform your perspective.
This week has been incredible. It started with feeling a bit low following all the highs from the wedding, but as the week progressed I had some awesome moments.
Starting off with the wonderful Becky Craven and our upcoming Social Media Workshop. We've sold a load of Super Early Bird tickets so we have some cash to really make the event a special one. Keep your eyes peeled for more information. Or check out my events page. Thank you Becky, you are blooming marvellous. ❤️ 🙏
The hot on the heels of that was Nicky Mee who, after a natter offered to be a guest with me on a free webinar to help anyone with their marketing questions. She's gifted me an hour of her time to share with people. What a fantastic lady. Thank you, Nicky, you made my day. ❤️ 🙏 🥳 Again, check out my events page for your free ticket.
ChatGPT has been incredible this week, I am really thinking outside the box using this cool tool. I have recorded a little video that needs to be uploaded to my YouTube Channel and I'll be doing a Drop-in soon to help. Are you using ChatGPT?
I also had a load of 15-minute chats with different people, too many to name, but you can see them smiling and putting up their thumbs. Just 15 minutes you'd be surprised what we can get up to.
And finally. It is FOLK WEEK here in Sidmouth and last night I was with the Sidmouth Mummers doing our 200-year-old street performance. So much fun and a load of music and merriment to come this week. If you are in Devon and want to see some live music I will be at the Volunteer Inn.
Just Dandy (Solo). Saturday 5 August from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

What are my thoughts on this week?
I've had a very good week for reposts. Which is great work. But not as good as I was hoping. It is
hard to keep up the momentum, I have had a couple of good posts this week but I've also had a couple that have bombed. My goal is to always get about a thousand impressions per post and as you can see from this breakdown not all of those have worked as well.
Maybe I need to up my commenting game, after all, commenting is currency eh? You’ll know all about this if you’ve been on my LinkedIn Daily Habit Workshop!
How was your week?
Here is the breakdown.

Last week Impressions were up by 22% to 21,369 and Engagements are up too by a brilliant 25% to 970. That’s pretty much down to my Proud daddy post.
This week has seen a turn of the tide again. But last week was incredible, so it was going to happen. Impressions down by 29% to 16,057 Engagements were also down by a massive 38%. Lessons to learn here. More comments needed Ashley.

Here are my six best-performing posts this week. Please note that my Proud Daddy post is still performing well this week too!!
