How do I know my Content is working?

Week 30 - My Weekly Content Review
Commencing 23 July 2022
I wanted to keep an eye on what my content is doing and also have a record. In this weekly blog you'll be able to see for yourself just how my content performs based upon my current follower numbers of 5388.
This is a great way for me to analyse what I've been up to and should give you some insights into how I think and how to create your own content. If you ever want to have a chat with me, please get in touch.
I have broken each day into its own section. If you can think of a better way to do this, please let me know. I'm always learning!

I had some real help on Friday and as a thank you I wanted to give a shout-out to Richard who helped me. Rather than just saying it publicly I asked the question around LinkedIn being a place to make friends.
How are your LinkedIn friends?
Mine are just awesome. Do your LinkedIn friends help you out on here too?
I love LinkedIn, you've probably noticed my enthusiasm for this incredible platform before because so many of my connections actually turn into friends.
One such friend, Richard Uridge reached out this week on one of my live broadcasts because someone had pointed out that the guitar and vocals were not mixed properly during the show. 🤦♂️
Because Richard is a tech wizard (Ex BBC no less) he offered to give me a hand and it looks like we have fixed the issue.
I'd put it down to the software I was using because it works fine on other channels, but with Richards's detailed knowledge we came up with a new setting after trying different variations of mics and their settings.
Tune in this week to see (hear) the improvements. When I am chatting with the charming Sandro Forte, Tuesday at 12:30
So if you need anything you'll have a friend to help you.
And if you want video, streaming, or tech help then you'd be a very wise owl to connect with Richard Uridge. Top Bloke.

SUNDAY 24 July 1,197 impressions,
I heard a great podcast so wanted to share my thoughts from I had found out. There’s nothing to stop you sharing other peoples ideas and add your own soin. So when you are listening to podcasts, reading books or even at the cinema, there is alsoway something that we can elarna dn then share with our network!!
What do you do when you know you have a tough week ahead of you?
Is that this week?
I watched a brilliant live broadcast this week by Dean Seddon where he talked about the task in hand in relation to climbing a mountain.
It made perfect sense and has helped me think of things a little differently this weekend.
So when you have a difficult week, do you run and hide and fear the steep climb? Or do you think of the view from the top of your mountain and crack on.
Do you embrace it?
We all have tough weeks now and then and it is easy to be put off because we fear the hard work and do not think of the breathtaking view that we have from the top of the mountain.
If you can imagine the outcome, then the hard work will not be so hard. Break those steps into easier bite-size chunks and take one step at a time.
If we keep the end in mind the journey will be easier to bear and the destination even sweeter.
For me, my mountain is my book. I'll be finalizing my book and ready for the first run with my editor. Wish me luck!
I'd love to know what your mountain is this week and what you are doing to make the climb easier or even FUN!!!

MONDAY 25 July
Every Monday I do a video for ideas of what to post on LinkedIn.
Do you struggle to think of Content Ideas for LinkedIn?
I know that many people do. This is why I started creating a weekly video just for you!
This is week 30 and I haven't missed one yet!!
Did you know that only 1% of LinkedIn users actually create any content, so if you were to get started on posting your own content it won't be long before people are getting in touch with you?
In the video, I expand on these 5 topics, to give you various ways to share your ideas, thoughts and experiences.
✅ Pets in hot weather.
✅ Selfies
✅ International Tiger Day
✅ The Woman's Euro Football
✅ Planning a Large Project or Challenge
I also create a newsletter each week, keep an eye out as I'll post that later.
If you want a hand, please get in touch, I love talking about content. Please just keep an open mind because there is content everywhere.
What will you post today?
If you do not feel confident just yet, start by making some comments as this will develop your writing skills and one day you will be ready to start creating your own content too!

I have been getting messages from my Alumni about the drop in engagement and TBH I have noticed a change in the engagement, although it seems my engagement is similar.
It’s due to different priorities with holiday etc so there will be less people on LinkedIn. I thought that I would see what other people are seeing.
Here’s the post.
Have you noticed a drop in engagement on here? Are you taking a break from Social Media this holiday season?
The universities are closed and the children have pretty much finished school and the ports are chock a block, so it must be the holiday season.
But does this mean that you should pair back your activity on social media?
Several people have said to me that their engagement is down and what should they do.
My advice is to do what you feel is right. We all need a break!
There are no rules, other than consistency.
So instead of going on LinkedIn every day, drop back to a few days a week, or maybe even just one day, but do not come off altogether.
Why not just drop in each morning for a few minutes? But keep creating content. This content may not be seen by so many people, but you're still creating it. (you can always re-use it again another day or in other places)
You do not want to get out of the habit just because you are seeing so much engagement.
You never know, but with less creativity in these platforms at this time of year, your work could see more engagement.
And who doesn't want that!
What are you doing this summer? Share your thoughts and ideas.

I have been trying to get to do more training with organisations and feel deflated because the powers that be do not want to know. They seem happy in their ignorance. Meanwhile people who are on my workshops are raving about the platfroma nd getting business!!
So I thought I would see what is happening in the real world and see if we can break it down a bit.
Seems a few people see the same issues as this post got a 4X more reach than my average posts!!
Here’s the post
Do you wonder why your boss doesn't do LinkedIn?
Are you like me and love LinkedIn but cannot understand why the boss doesn't bother?
I've been training people on LinkedIn for a few years, and although we all get it, the powers that be shrug it off and carry on with managing. 🤦♂️
I train mainly the solo person on how best to utilise this incredible platform. Some of my students tell me about their organisation and that I should speak to my manager, the MD or the head of L&D.
It never goes anywhere.
One of my students told me of a large accounting practice where their staff are frowned upon for being active on LinkedIn. 😱
❓ Do they really not see the value?
❓ Are they really too busy?
❓ It's not just for us youngsters!
Let me know what you think and how we can tackle the reluctance at the top.
Have you got any stories of how you have had success with your work on LinkedIn?

I was celebrating the return of Folk Week to Sidmouth so shared my part in the Mummers play. I used a fun selfie and explained what would be happening, but used a hook that would get engagement.
When you write your content you have to think what will grab the attention of your reader.
Do you have any dark secrets? Not a bad hook eh?
Here’s the post

Do you like dressing up? Do you like to be someone else?
I have a dark secret..........
I love dressing up😁
Tonight, here in Sidmouth, it is the start of the Sidmouth Folk Festival and for me it's like Christmas.
I'm so excited I can crush a grape.
There will be music all over the town and I get to play 5 different gigs over the next 8 days. Some solo and some as Vine & Dandy with my good friend, Will Vine.
PLUS - I get to dress up. YAY!!!!
I play the part of King Tippoo in the Sidmouth Traditional Mummers and this year is our Bicentenary Year. (I've only been in it for 15 years, but Old Father Christmas in the photo has been in the group for over 40 years.
We do street theatre and perform a traditional play around the town during the week. It's great fun and always leaves the audience entertained and laughing!
Do you have any dark secrets?

Today was the last day of my 21st Workshop so I wanted to pull on the collective delight of my students with a launch of my Learning Academy. Rather than say about it I weaved it around the developers of the platform that I use so it was more about how we work as a collaborative team rather than blatant selling.
I also included a link to my academy. All of this I do not advocate as daily practice, but every now and them we need to remind people what we do eh?
If you do it right it will not come over as you being a pushy sales person.
But get it wrong………
I uploaded this video to my YouTube Channel to help explain how it is possible to sell without selling on LinkedIn. Have a look and tell me what you think.
This post I used the Document Post and created 11 pages explaining all my workshops and also gave a little hint of my upcoming book!

How do you work with your suppliers and partners?
Do you put up with what they dictate, or is it a collaboration?
I want to give a shout-out today to one of my partners.
Let's Level Up is whom I use for my training platform and I love working with Luke Netherclift, Varun Balsara and the team.
I love working with them because they are not just about making money. They are about helping their community and enriching us with shared webinars.
PLUS
When I said I want ONE point of contact for my courses they listened and have come up with My Learning Academy!!!
This means whatever course I design to help people to get more from LinkedIn I just drop it into one place and my students can just choose what suits their needs.
It also means that I have the ability to design different courses, so if there is anything that you need, talk to me and I will collaborate with you too.
How do you work with your suppliers and partners? Share the love and let us know how it works for you.

Overall and cracking week for engagement. This does tie in with my 21st Cohort of training so there is always more activity.
