A week of content on LinkedIn

Answering your questions. What can I post on LinkedIn?

NEW WEEK Commencing 3 September

Welcome to another week of my content.

I am sharing this so that you can see what happens with my posts.

More viewers this week than last week which is good. My hashtag follows have remained stable and my engagement was much better.

If you need a hand with your content, please get in touch.

Views Last Week 1567 Up 18

Views This Week 1,471 Down a ton (I had a huge spike at the beginning of the graph from last week, so this has affected my numbers) I’m more level now so this should be better.

The graph is saying that my week was better than last week!

Because I had such a poor engagement this week I needed to dig deep with a big hitting post and I know from previous experience that this one will always bring in the engagement. I actually repurposed this post from one that I did during lockdown when we had the DD celebrations back in 2020.

None of my newer connections would have seen it so I felt it okay to try it again.

I used the same image but dropped it into Canva to add a few words.

It worked.

Great engagement, even a week later.

Who doesn't like the jam and cream debate?

Are you a CREAM or JAM 1st person?

After watching the latest Fisherman's Friends movie we laughed at the scone debate. It keeps on rolling.

Because it was filmed in Cornwall they obviously had the jam on first. 🤦‍♂️. Is this really correct?

But here in Devon, it is cream on first because it's 'the butter' of the creation. Are we right?

Or does it really matter? By the time you've taken a bit then it's all the same right? 😂

We all have opinions, but sometimes we just have to go with the flow, surely it's better to be happy than right?

The movie was a feel-good movie and today it's national cinema day so every cinema is selling seats for just £3.00. Support our cinemas and go out tonight to see a movie with your special people.

Just for fun, are you cream or jam?

And why?

One of my clients is not as productive as they need to be, so we have been doing some work to try to improve this for them.

SO I thought that I would share it with you too.

All great ideas, why not try them, or come back with the ideas that work for you?

Here’s the post.

Are you getting ready for tomorrow? Do you PLAN?

We're all back to school eh?

So are you planning what needs to be done in order to hit the ground running and knock it out of the park?

Following an awesome session with one of my 1:1 coaching clients, we have come up with a detailed plan of what work will be done this week.

My client now knows exactly what they will be doing each day and at what time.

We've booked in some reward time and also planned to turn off all notifications so this important work gets done.

Just planning this out was giving my client a good feeling and an email this morning has confirmed that they are buzzing and ready to go for it.

Do you plan your week?

Think of all the things that you need to do and then write them down.

Next up is to prioritise what is the most important or beneficial for your business. Next, you need to assign time to do that job. Try to be strict with your time. Remember Parkinson's Law!

Parkinson's Law states that we make the job last the allotted time. So if you feel a job could take an hour, why not block out 45 minutes for that job? You'll be surprised how it motivates you to get it done!

What's stopping you? Do you have any top tips for planning? Do you go to this level?

What can you post on LinkedIn?

I get asked this question all the time!!

I often get asked, “What type of content is best for LinkedIn?” Or “How long should a LinkedIn post be?”

Because of this, I create a Monday Nudge every Monday as a newsletter to nudge you to create some content.

That email has now turned into a weekly video that I started to challenge myself in January this year.

Today is video number 36.

YES 36 Weeks!

These are the ideas, but I expand in greater detail in the video!

✅ Inspirational People

✅ Planning

✅ Kicking off September

✅ Document Post

✅ National Payroll Week

If you have any ideas that you wish to share, please let me know here.

Are you going to create some content this week?

We have another LinkedIn Local, so I needed to let people know!

Have you been motivated to do something because you've been inspired by someone else?

I'm off to the master of LinkedIn Locals today the one and only Vic Williams, at Froginwell Vineyard Event Venue

Vic is my inspiration and because of Vic and his unfaltering work, I am now proud to be able to host my own LinkedIn Local here in Sidmouth.

It's a proper networking event for any local business owners and their teams to come along and meet the people local without having to travel too far.

I'll be sharing some top tips for using LinkedIn and the lovely Odessa Sherreard will be giving us some ideas on how to write your own content.

If you'd like to join us it's only £3.00 to help to cover the costs, but it's all about meeting our local community, so if you are in or near Sidmouth, then please come along.

Any questions, just shout

Who has inspired you and what are you now doing as a result?

I have a new book coming out, but I am stuck on the title. I have many friends on LinkedIn and many other people who love to engage with my content, so why not ask people what they think of my crazy ideas?

I had loads of feedback. Some from really close friends and some from complete strangers and also some offers of help.

How lovely is LinkedIn? It just goes to show that if you keep giving value, every now and again to you can ask a favour.

Let’s call this Reciprocity.

But you have to earn the reciprocity.

You cannot keep asking for stuff if you are not giving back. This comes back round to the strapline of my business, the chorus of my song and the way that I live my life.

You get out what you put in. I put 100% into many aspects of my life and guess what? It rewards my efforts.

I was truly rewarded this week, with so many comments. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and add their thoughts.

And thank you to the person who tried to attack my actions, it’s people like this that keep me grounded. I’m not here to win, I’m here to help.

Here’s my post and if you have an idea for a title for my book, please feel free to drop on and share your ideas.

Do you like it EASY, or is that dumbing it down?

In early tests, the word EASY has proven a bit of a stumbling block for some people, whilst others say they love that it is easy.

Can I ask for your opinion on my upcoming book title, please?

My first book is with my editor. 😱

But I need a name for my book and I wonder if I can canvass your ideas, please?

The whole idea of the book is to help more people to create content because so many people struggle with ideas.

✅ My book is a small paperback around 104 pages A5 size.

✅ It's a book to help you come up with ideas for creating content

✅ It has 101 individual ideas (which I expand upon) to inspire you

✅ It shares my thoughts for why you should create content

It's not a LinkedIn for dummies type book, it's something to pick up when you have a no news day and need a bit of a nudge. Maybe something to keep in the loo 😁.

It's got sections to record what and when you wrote about so that you can easily repurpose and monitor the effectiveness of your content too.

I have mocked up some front cover designs to give you the naming conventions that I have thought of.

I've got thick skin and I want this book to be right, so please do not hold back.

Do you really think that EASY is a winner?

I’m doing my first webinar. Helping people to do more on Canva.

So here’s the post

Do you look at people's LinkedIn Banners and think "I wish mine was that good?"

Do you see their graphics and think that they must have paid a fortune to get them looking so good?

When we are starting out with our business there is so much to do and graphics can really help us to look professional.

But where do you start?

I have been using Canva since I started my business in April last year and over that time I've learnt loads of things about Canva.

In a recent discussion with one of my students, I said that I would do a webinar to help.

And here we are. The webinar is set up and if you want to know a little bit more about how to create graphics, book covers, banners and anything else, then why not drop in next Monday?

Let me know what you are struggling with and I'll add that to the webinar too!

Hit the link to book your spot.

FRIDAY 9 September 2,121 impressions

This was the morning after we heard the news that HRH The Queen had died.

It was a strange day indeed and I felt compelled to write something.

LinkedIn was awash with these sorts of posts. I was just sharing my personal thoughts.

How are you feeling today?

It's a strange day eh?

All our love and thoughts are with the Royal Family today following the sad loss of the one true constant in many of our lives.

HRH The Queen Elizabeth II

RIP Your Majesty

The Queen has always been there. Always serving and always smiling whilst carrying out her duty showing us the way to be a true public servant.

So many words will be written today, so many memories re-lived and so many sad faces as we go about our day.

We've been lucky to have experienced such an incredible lady and I am proud to be British.

God bless.

One final thought is our New King. HRH King Charles III. Good luck your majesty and please know that we are thinking of you on your personal sad loss today.

A quick look at the morning papers today shows every one with their own special tributes.

This one is my favourite because of the gorgeous quote

"Grief is the price we pay for love."

The graph says I am down 2.2%

Last Week 12,365 Impressions and 283 engagements.

This week 15,711 Impressions and 558 engagements.. That is certainly great news, but I am not sure why the graph says that I am down?
